Duncan Stewart

Mr. Stewart will present a summary of the Albany Convention Center and Hotel Complex project that has been so highly publicized in local media.

He will concentrate on what has happened (and is happening each day) in the project initiation and planning process groups.

He will detail what has happened in project selection, what goals and objectives were defined for the project, and a high-level scope of the project. He will cover the guiding principles and the mission statement for the Convention Center project. He will offer a project overview, and an update as to where the project is this fall. This will include a schedule for the project.

In addition, he will present organizational methods for the project. He will consider how the stakeholders are dealing with risk management.

There will be ample opportunities for questions and answers following the presentation.

Bio for Duncan Stewart, Executive Director/CEO - ACCA

Mr. Duncan Stewart has more than 20 years of experience in commercial construction and development industry. His career includes employment with several Capital Region developers and contractors, including serving for the past 12 years as vice president of operations for Zandri Construction in Cohoes. Duncan's project experience includes the air-traffic control tower/Tracon Facility, air cargo and maintenance buildings at the Albany International Airport; renovations and additions to Public Schools #20 and #27 in the Albany City School District; and the gymnasium and classroom additions to the St. Anne Institute in Albany.

Mr. Stewart, a native of Boston, has lived in the Capital Region since 1975. The Averill Park resident has managed numerous public and private sector projects in this area and elsewhere. In his project work, he has served in both the capacity of an owner's representative and general contractor. His project experience is coupled with an extensive knowledge of the construction management process.
