The Commissioners’ Dashboard is an intranet-based web application developed using Gartner's theory of Corporate Performance Management. The Dashboard provides systematic and sustainable innovative procedures to assist executive teams who serve the most vulnerable populations from across NYS in tracking, measuring, and improving business performance. It is a single enterprise-wide reporting, research, and analysis environment showcasing a comprehensive picture of key performance across 59 local and three state human services agencies. End users with limited PC skills and/or technological resources may use this powerful tool with a few clicks to view monthly aggregate information enhanced with historical trend data. For some performance reports, real time data is also available at a more granular level.
This session focuses on the Project Management techniques used in managing this first statewide collaborative tool. The tool provides a unified and standardized view of human services data from three diverse sources maintained by Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA), Office of Children and Family (OCFS), and Department of Health (DOH) into a single, seamless, and easy-to-use web portal.
The Commissioners’ Dashboard project won the 2006 Best of New York award for collaboration among agencies and the national 2007 Center for Digital Government award for the innovative government to government application category.
