How do you prevent every new Project Manager from repeating the mistakes and frustrations of those who have gone before them? How do you provide Project Managers with the next level of skills required for those really large projects? Hear how New York State government is addressing these concerns combining formal classroom training, structured practice sessions, and mentoring through their Project Management Mentoring Program (PMMP). With more than 50 graduates and now in its third full year, the PMMP is successfully sharing information gained through years of experience, trial and error, lessons learned, and methodology development as it supports Sustained Project Success throughout New York State.
Brenda joined OFT in 2001. Prior to joining their PMO, she was a Project Manager for Higher Education Services Corporation. She helped develop the NYS Project Management Guidebook and was a selected reviewer of the PMBOK Government Extension Pre-exposure Draft. Her educational background includes a BS in Business Management from SUNY ESC, and a Master's Certificate in Project Management from The George Washington University. She also applies her project management skills in volunteer positions with several local organizations. Brenda lives in Latham, New York and, with the able assistance of her husband, is raising two teenage daughters.
