Distance Learning: PM Master's Degree

George Washington University, a leading educational institution in the field of business and business administration, established a Master of Science in Project Management via distance learning in January 1998. Eileen Armstrong graduated, with honors, in the first distance learning class in May 2000. The presentation will address the following items: admissions requirements, professor qualifications, courses required and their content, residency requirements and distance learning in general (computer, internet provider, teamwork, conference calls, contacting the professor, advantages and disadvantages, etc.).
Eileen has 30 years experience in the telecommunications industry. She retired from Nynex in 1996 and went to work for Teleport and through a merger is now working for AT&T. Eileen started local service in Albany as the Project Manager in charge of the local switch and fiber optic transport equipment installations and with an engineer designed and installed fiber in the streets of Albany. Currently she is Operations Manager for the maintenance of AT&T's transport network for Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Albany north.
In addition to her Master of Science in Project Management she also holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University, is a PMI certified Project Manager, and Vice President of Education and Certification for our local chapter.
