Presented by:
Dr. Andrew Wolfe, Union College
Union College is a small liberal arts college with a strong engineering program. The development of a project management course sequence was begun as part of the college initiative to integrate engineering and the liberal arts. The course sequence consists of an entry-level course, which covers the basics of project management. Two additional courses which offer a more in depth review of topics, including resource allocation and contracts. The capstone course is a practicum, where students work as an event coordinator for a non-profit organization. This 4-course sequence provides both liberal arts and engineering students with an opportunity to develop skills, which are usually not taught at this level. Dr. Wolfe will review with us the challenges and rewards of being involved in this innovative program.
